Best Made Co. is one of a kind and although this post is categorised as ‘The New Thing‘, this isn’t my first experience with the company, however I thought it would be a great introduction post to feature them after receiving my new Straight Hold Hatchet earlier this week and I couldn’t be happier.

Best Made Co. is best described as outdoor equipment specialists and for someone like myself who enjoys this side of life, they are everything a brand in this category should strive for. They provide dependable information one can use and equip people with high-quality goods. The Straight Hold hatchet is no exception to the latter.

The hatchet arrived neatly packaged and taped with their signature “Measure Twice, Cut Once” adage in a small flat cardboard box and once opened inside was the beautifully crafted hatchet, labelled up and in my choice colour of blue dipped. It comes with a bridle-leather blade guard for extra protection and they even threw in an embroidered patch.

There is no mistaking the craftsmanship that has gone in to producing the hatchet which is pleasing to see as BMC produce full-size axes and have done so since its inception, the hatchet is on par quality wise. I had always been in awe of the larger axe’s but never truly had the need for one, the hatchet, which was a recent addition to their ever-growing product catalogue, was the perfect excuse to invest. I have a log burner and dedicate Sunday’s as my kindling chopping day so the new hatchet will be put to good use right away.

For more information and tech specs on the hatchet visit here, they ship internationally and shipping rates are varied but reasonable. Myself and C plan on visiting 36 White St NY when we take our trip later this year, for me this will be my second pilgrimage and hopefully, we will take some pics and maybe a Brand Focus post once we are back, watch this space.
