When H and I travelled to New York back in May on the top of my list of purchases was Glossier. I didn’t know what I wanted to try the most but I knew I was desperate to see whether they lived up to my expectations. The reason I waited so long to order any of the Glossier products was because they aren’t available to us here in the UK. Glossier ship to the USA and the USA alone, although I think exceptions are made for some of the worldly top beauty bloggers. Luckily I was able to ship to our hotel which I seriously recommend doing!
With skincare being almost a magnet for me I thought it was a good place to start. I firmly believe that if your skin is looking and feeling it’s best then whatever makeup you use is going to look 10 times better than it would if you hadn’t prepped your skin correctly. So I picked up three Glossier product to see if they lived up to the almost unbelievably great reviews.
If you’re wondering why this is a milky jelly cleanser or what a ‘conditioning face wash’ is then I can guarantee you are not alone. I really do think this cleanser is one of a kind. It’s not a balm, foaming, cream or gel cleanser… it really is a jelly cleanser. Less oily than the Oskia renaissance cleanser this is great for removing all makeup and is so gentle it can be used on eyes. Glossier really did listen to their readers and clients when we said what we’d want in our ideal cleanser. Use on dry skin to dissolve makeup and grime or on wet skin to wake you up in the morning. It leaves my skin feeling so soft as a result of the pH-balanced blend of five skin conditioners. Glossier’s milky jelly cleanser really stabilised my skin, since using this I break our a lot less and my skin feels so hydrated after use without and residue lot on my skin. I would really recommend this to al skin types and I think it is a fantastic gentle cleanser. I am genuinely marginally distressed that I am coming to the end of the bottle and I have no way of purchasing another without a US shipping address which charge a small fortune. But hey, it might even be worth it.
Supposedly like a green juice cleanse for your face, is my go to mask when my skin feels either dull or hormonal. This is a creamy clay mask that manages to removes impurities and excess oil without drying the skin. It really does balance and condition pores whilst still calming the skin. This mask is so reasonably priced and has lasted me such a long time as you really do only need the thinnest layer. The is a very small exfoliating property to this mask too. I tend to cleanse my face and either apply all over my face or apply to the areas I need it the most. I tend to leave it on for around 20 minutes whilst I catch up on bits and bobs. Unlike other clay masks, this doesn’t make your face feel tight and is still flexible even whilst drying.
Glossier’s Moisturising Moon Mask is great for adding life back into the skin and I think I’ll use it even more than I do know during these winter months. This mask is so easily absorbed into the skin I find it best to apply a thick layer. This light cream mask is so intensely hydrating whilst containing liquorice root and lemon fruit extract which work to gently brighten and even out the complexion. This is great for skin which has been exposed to the sun for extended periods of time, skin with raging concerns or skin which is dehydrated. The sweet almond oil, plant-based squalene and hyaluronic acid really do plump by penetrating deep beneath the skin’s surface. The mask is lovely and cooling and I like to leave this on over the recommended time of 20 minutes when I have the time. ( I have even slept in a thin layer of this) Then rinse it off with warm water and apply a face oil for maximum benefits.
I would happily repurchase all of these products and having tried these three has only made me want to try more. Last week Glossier launched their new serums ‘the supers’ and they are the top of my wishlist.
