Beach Hut Blues

How to style colour leather

Channel Islands fashion blogger

The days are getting shorter, darkness descends that much faster yet we’re still being treated to the occasional warm sunny day. Although I appreciate this mid-November sunshine, it’s giving me the summer blues. Throwback to bare legs, freckled skin, and a hell of a lot less layers. To the barbecues we won’t be hosting or attending till next year, the picnic food we can no longer eat outside, and to the excessive amount of gelato a month or so ago we were devouring… or was that just me?

I’ve always worn a lot of monochrome, I’m not sure why I’m drawn to it, maybe because it seems familiar, or maybe because it’s safe. Maybe because then I know it will go with every damn other item of clothing I own! This jacket is certainly not black or white. I love the pale, electric blue shade and, even though it’s a statement piece, it pairs well with more items than I first expected. A statement jacket is such an easy way to shake up your normal wardrobe. If you choose one which is only one colour, it will be easier to style with more items, I love that the biker style of this jacket as it provides a more relaxed feel to any outfit. There are lots of coloured faux leather jackets available on the high-street at the moment, I love this one because it’s slightly cropped and has a really nice stretch to it which when I’m layer jumpers under it later in the year will be a huge bonus!
