December Goals 2016

  1. I need to get into the festive spirit, this year I’m struggling. I’m going to sort out our tree today so maybe that will help but last year I had so much energy, I even made us homemade decorations and stockings, whereas this year I feel so run down from being busy and fighting off seasonal colds.
  2. Get in the mindset of 2017. I am a strong believer that you can start fresh at any time but there’s something about January 1st that wipes the slate clean like nothing else. 2016 has been a memorable year for all the wrong reasons so it will be good to leave the past in the past and focus on the future. I want to get into a routine for the year ahead.
  3. Spring clean. Before Christmas and New years when friends and family gather round for Christmas drinks or mince pies, I really want to get everything at home in shape. It really doesn’t come naturally for me, so it’s time to put my head down and get it sorted, I also need to give a wall and the front door a few licks of paint after an experiment with pink paint went wrong.
  4. Surround myself with those who matter most. I always worry about offending and excluding people, even if I might enjoy myself less by inviting someone to something, I do it anyway to keep a peaceful dynamic. I’ve realised that I’ve been ultimately sacrificing my happiness because I don’t want to offend people. Even though they have often shown that they wouldn’t think twice about my feelings in situations. So I’m going to prioritise those who mean the most to me and those who prioritise me. At first, I thought this was selfish but there’s nothing wrong with distancing yourself from those who bring you down. People drift apart it’s only natural, and I’m so lucky to have some great people in my life that I can’t wait to spend quality time with this month and next year.
  5. I’m hosting a dinner party on New Year’s Eve, so I really need to get prepared for it. I have no idea what I’m going to make yet so I need to have a look at some menu ideas. It’s going to be so much fun and hopefully, it will be a successful evening. What are you guys doing for New Year’s Eve?
