I’m not trying to jinx anything, but, my skin is the best it’s been in a loooooong time. And while I’m sure there are numerous factors which contribute towards it, I can’t deny that some of my current products are really working wonders. Here’s the rundown, in case you’re looking for some stand out skincare.
Having become a glossier addict ( thinking of updating this post) it might be surprising that I haven’t featured their priming moisturiser yet. Well considering it’s so hard to get hold of any of the coveted line here in the UK, it’s safe to say I was using the stuff sparingly. And I’m kind of glad I did because this stuff is the best summer time moisturiser a girl can imagine. It’s super hydrating but lightweight and sinks in with a minute or so leaving the perfect base for makeup. This has been my go-to in recent weeks and because it primes my skin so well, I’m actually using less foundation too.
If you can’t get your hand on this then give this a go until Glossier makes the journey across to the UK later this year.
Eve Lom is such a premium brand that I haven’t tried many of their products. However, this spot cream is now one of those products I just couldn’t live without. It’s so easy to use and doesn’t irritate my skin. You can use it like stand spot treatments and leave it on overnight, or, you can actually easier rub this stuff in and apply your makeup on top. This is what makes it stand out for me, you can blend it in so it’s undetectable and be eliminating those pesky pimples whilst you’re at work. Winner.
This stuff is SO gentle. I’ a huge fan of soothing products that contain rose water and this also has the added benefit of lavender too. The rosewater soothes and cools my skin whilst reducing any redness and the lavender seems to soften my skin making any products that follow sink in better. This is great for reactive skin and sensitive skin. I love using this if to wake my skin up in the morning, or swiped over my skin with a cotton pad as a step in my evening skincare routine.
I know it’s a skincare sin… but I wasn’t a fan of facial SPFs so I definitely didn’t use them on a daily basis… until now. It was when I was visiting the light salon (more about that here) that they told me they were applying an SPF to protect my skin. I couldn’t feel any stickiness, my face wasn’t greasy, there was no white film across my skin. My skin just looked like a slightly more evened out version of itself. This SPF 30, tinted protectant is the perfect daily sun care. It is definitely skincare, not make-up as it heals, protects and repairs my skin. It goes beautifully on top of the Glossier priming moisturizer and seamlessly below makeup whilst letting my skin breath.
I got given this product to try by Voisins. I haven’t gotten into the habit of using eye cream regularly, it’s just not drilled into my skincare routine. But every time I use this I wish I remembered to use it more. It’s created to reduce the first signs of ageing. Something that unfortunately I’m having to think about more than I did a couple of years ago. What I love most about it is its applicator. It has a unique large metal doe foot style applicator which allows you to gently massage your eye area. The metal feels so cooling along side the actual product which really soothes and depuffs. Definitely one I’ve been reaching for after a night of one too many cocktails.
My friend told me this stuff was better than some of her £100 + night creams and that I had to try it. She was right. Danny told me the morning after I first used it that my skin looked amazing and he didn’t even know I had slept in this stuff all night. Trust me, you need to give this ago. It’s like good skin in a pump. The fact it’s an overnight mask just makes it even easier to use. It nourishes, calms and soothes the skin so you wake up to the perfect canvas. The only thing I would say is that the packaging could be better, I love the product but sometimes the pump doens’t seem to work. I thought it was just me but my friend said the same.
